PRESS: Samsung gets back leadership in smartphone sales in Russia
MOSCOW, Aug 4 (PRIME) -- Smartphones by South Korea’s Samsung have again become the most bestselling devices in Russia in units by overpassing Honor, a sub-brand of China’s Huawei, business daily Vedosmoti reported on Tuesday, citing statistics of a partner of several electronics makers and other sources.
Samsung’s share was at 26% in units in June and 21.1% in May, while Honor had 23% in June and in May.
In July, Samsung had over 30% of the market, and Honor’s share decreased to slightly more than 20%.
A representative of seller Svyaznoy explained Samsung’s leadership in June–August by releases of new devices, like Galaxy S20 and the Galaxy A series. The South Korean company also increased marketing activities and supplies to retailers’ stores.
Samsung’s Galaxy A51 and Galaxy A10 were the bestsellers in June, seller M.Video-Eldorado’s official Valeria Andreyeva said, adding that Honor led in January–May.
